Citibank rolls out Malaysian small business service

28th June 2006
By Sarah Routledge

Citibank has launched CitiBusiness Power Access in Malaysia, providing services to small and medium enterprises normally reserved for the larger corporations.

CitiBusiness customers will gain opportunities to network with like-minded businessmen through various events, obtain specific reports on their businesses and industry as well as exclusive access to an online Resource Center complete with business intelligence reports, library of articles, tools, information and guides for business-related needs.

Piyush Gupta, Citigroup country officer, said: "Our internal research shows larger corporations often enjoy the cost savings and convenience to which small businesses and professionals do not have access. Smaller companies and start-ups often lack the adequate support." Power Access also offers travel services and negotiates discounts with partners like DHL, GDEX, DiGi, Rent-Wise and MYOB. "Small businesses and professionals are crucial in developing Malaysia's economy. It is essential that these sectors continue to receive sufficient and appropriate financial as well as networking support to ensure their sustained growth towards meeting the nation's development objectives," Mr Gupta added.
